Mocha Protein Balls

INGREDIENTS

(MAKES 16 – GOLF BALL SIZE)

1/2 CUP ALMONDS

1/4 CUP PEPITAS (PUMPKIN SEEDS)

1/2 CUPS ROLLED OATS

80g PROTEIN POWDER (I USED CHOC PEA PROTEIN)

2 TBS PURE MAPLE SYRUP

3/4 CUP WATER

1/4 CUP COFFEE BEANS, GROUND

 

METHOD

• IF YOU DON’T HAVE A FOOD PROCESSOR, YOU COULD USE ALMOND MEAL/OATMEAL, JUST CHOP THE PEPITAS FINELY AND USE INSTANT COFFEE

• COMBINE COFFEE, WATER AND MAPLE SYRUP IN A SMALL BOWL, SET ASIDE

• PROCESS ALMONDS, PEPITAS AND OATS UNTIL IT HAS ALL BROKEN DOWN TO NEARLY A ‘MEAL’ CONSISTENCY (YOU CAN LEAVE IT CHUNKIER IF YOU LIKE)

• ADD IN PROTEIN POWDER AND PULSE UNTIL COMPLETELY COMBINED

• ADD IN THE BOWL OF COFFEE MIXTURE, PROCESS UNTIL MIXTURE COMES TOGETHER FORMING A DOUGH

• ROLL SPOONFULS OF MIX INTO BALLS & PLACE BALLS INTO AN AIRTIGHT CONTAINER, STORE IN THE FRIDGE, CAN BE FROZEN ALSO 

HONEY/RICE MALT SYRUP/MASHED BANANA OR APPLE SAUCE COULD BE USED INSTEAD OF MAPLE SYRUP IF PREFERRED.

YOU COULD SUBSTITUTE PEA PROTEIN WITH ANOTHER PROTEIN POWDER.

YOU COULD ADD IN/ROLL IN CHIA SEEDS/SPIRULINA/CACAO/COCONUT ETC FOR ADDED NUTRITION
